2021.06.11 Seabrook Initial Mailing

Dear Fellow Resident,

Setting up a Seabrook Residents’ Group

Many of you will be aware of the large number of recent messages posted on Facebook etc concerning Bloor Homes and the Seabrook Orchards Management Company.    Many of these messages have been strongly critical, particularly regarding the £250 service charge invoice recently issued to us all.    Several people have also commented on the difficulty in eliciting any response to messages sent to the Management Committee and its directors (the Dart brothers).

What we lack at this moment is any formal group which is recognized and supported by Seabrook residents, and able to speak on our behalf on matters of mutual concern.

A small number of us have started exploring the possibility of setting up such a group – which might ultimately become a formally constituted Seabrook Community or Residents Association, either independent of, or linked to, the existing Newcourt CA.

Such a group could then speak on our behalf on a range of issues, including Management Committee invoices, development of communal spaces, problems with roofing/building issues, road signage and lighting, the motorway sound barrier fence, etc etc.

In due course we hope we could put forward proposals to be circulated for consideration by the whole Seabrook community.     But at this point we remain just a small ad hoc group of interested individuals developing ideas for wider consideration.      And at this early stage it would be really helpful to know:

  • Are you broadly supportive of exploring these issues further along the lines indicated above?
  • Do you have particular concerns over and above those mentioned in this letter?
  • Would you like to be kept informed about the work of the group, or possibly be involved directly in it?    [NB We would particularly, but not exclusively, welcome input at this stage from those with legal, accountancy or management experience].

If you would like to know more, or share your thoughts/concerns, do please get in touch with Andrew Sails via the contact details above.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Andrew Sails
